Job Description
The Corporate Travel Manager is the client’s main point of contact for Corporate and Leisure Travel. This role will actively manage existing client relationships with our Airline, Cruise Line and Hotel partners; focused on the best interests of our clients and API at all times.
This position is hybrid with a minimum of 3 days at our headquarters in Melville, NY after the initial few weeks of training exclusively in office. Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. - Oversee the direction of existing API accounts with the goal of maximizing prevailing relationships to expand market/wallet share versus preassigned revenue quota.
- Strategic planning and organizing to maximize API revenue, as well as client savings goals; including but not limited to sourcing timelines for expiring contracts and contract renewals. Fully understand the Corporate Travel Aspect of your assigned accounts and ensure all deliverables are being met for a successful relationship
- Manage all client communications ranging from weekly performance meetings to business reviews. Own internal communications to the cross functional team on client performance, strategies and needs.
- Proactively pursue and maintain the best hotel relationships where the clients contract.
- Work closely with Sourcing team to provide all details of a destination to ensure a seamless approach to sourcing the destination. Assist with the sourcing of destinations by initiating the RFP process and being sensitive to supplier relationships.
- Total responsibility for ensuring the RFP results are documented in the Corporate Travel presentation in an accurate, detailed oriented manner and the presentation meets the needs of the client, demonstrates a level of savings and meets the revenue goals of API.
- Work with Business Development to ensure any new openings, upcoming hotels or acquisitions are being courted for a Corporate and Leisure relationship. Ensure a smooth client transition from contract signing to implementation.
- Collaboratively work with the Account Manager/Director on assigned accounts to ensure client training and corporate destinations are accurate with incumbent and alternative approved hotels. Provide detailed slides with financial successes, areas of opportunity and upcoming promotions at client business reviews.
- Execute hotel contract negotiations.
- Monitor market conditions in each assigned region to ensure the best rates and or discounts, amenities and contract terms are maintained throughout the hotel contract.
- Conduct risk management for each destination in your region to proactively manage any potential risks to the contract based on changes to that hotel or market and negotiate terms that will positively impact our client.
- Own HotelExpress product by ensuring negotiated rates are loaded and maintained in system, conduct audits, annual contract renewals, create and maintain client and parent accounts, prepare quarterly presentations for designated airlines of usage and areas of opportunity.
- Manage Corporate and Leisure Travel contract data is entered and updated in SalesForce.
Required Skills, Education and Experience - Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the travel industry, working closely with hotels is a must.
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, sales and marketing or related field.
- Ability to effectively manage workload in a fast paced atmosphere relying on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
- Shows attention to detail and the ability to produce high quality work.

- Strong Microsoft Office computer skills, with emphasis on Excel.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Customer service and client relationship skills. Ability to positively present API in customer facing situations.

- Keen ability to negotiate mutually beneficial contract terms and conditions.
- An organized self-starter who can work proactively and independently.
- Able to multitask and work well under strict deadlines and fast paced environment.
- Flexible schedule and limited travel availability needed based on business needs.
- Bilingual a plus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work Full time, Monday through Friday, normal core business hours. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel Requirements 10%
Compensation Good faith annual salary range for this position is $55,000 - $62,000 and is commensurate with experience and location.
