Position Overview The Dispatcher at Tioga Plumbing & Electric plays a crucial role in the efficient coordination and scheduling of service calls for both plumbing and electrical departments. The primary responsibility is to ensure that service technicians are dispatched in a timely manner, optimizing routes to meet customer needs while balancing technician availability. The Dispatcher serves as the central point of communication between customers, field technicians, and management, facilitating the smooth flow of information and ensuring that work orders are accurately documented and completed.
Key responsibilities include managing daily schedules, responding to customer inquiries, monitoring job progress, and adjusting schedules in real-time to handle emergencies or changes in availability. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
This role is essential for maintaining customer satisfaction, minimizing technician downtime, and ensuring the efficient operation of Tioga Plumbing & Electric's service calls.
This is a full-time, in-office position.
Compensation - $17.00 - $22.00 per hour based on experience
- Eligible for monthly bonus when KPI's are met
Duties and Responsibilities • Schedule and dispatch plumbing and electrical service calls to technicians in a timely manner.
• Coordinate with field technicians to ensure efficient routing and minimize travel time.
• Communicate with customers to confirm appointments, provide updates, and address any concerns or questions.
• Track job progress and update job status in the company’s management system.
• Manage incoming calls, emails, and messages from customers and technicians.
• Maintain detailed records of service requests, job status, and customer interactions.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts and manage unexpected changes or emergencies.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing customer issues and ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations and efficient service delivery.
Requirements • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in dispatch or customer service is a plus.
• Previous experience in a dispatch or administrative role, preferably in the plumbing or electrical industry.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in using dispatch software, (Service Titan) scheduling tools, and general office applications.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage high-volume call scenarios.
• Familiarity with the local area and efficient routing techniques.
Physical Requirements • Ability to sit for extended periods and use a computer and phone.
• Occasional lifting and carrying of up to 10 pounds.
