The QIMA WQS story
QIMA WQS (formerly known as WQS) was founded in 1993, offering solutions to the food industry from farm to fork through GFSI recognized certifications (GLOBALG.A.P., PrimusGFS, BRCGS, SQF, IFS) , food safety and ethical audits, quality seals, inspections, training, and supply chain management. We have been approved by government entities and major food retailers.
In 2019, QIMA WQS joined the QIMA Group, QIMA is a leading provider of supply chain compliance solutions, that partners with brands, retailers and importers to secure, manage and optimize their global supply network. QIMA has on-the-ground presence in 85 countries, combining industry-leading experts for onsite inspections, supplier audits, and lab testing with a digital platform that brings accuracy, transparency, and intelligence for quality and compliance data.
As a Food Safety Auditor you will be responsible for conducting audits on farms and facilities in accordance with both the audit scheme rules and QIMA WQS procedures.

This is a contract position. Preferred candidates will be located in the Pacific Northwest (PNW, specifically Washington/Oregon)
Education And Experience
Mandatory Qualification
- Education in an agricultural/crop-based, food-related subject with a minimum duration of 2 years.
- A minimum of two (02) years of work experience gained after finishing post-high school studies and overall 3 years experience in the agricultural industry.
- In case of a food not Ag-related degree, minimum of four (04) years industry experience in a practical capacity on a farm or in a technical production management role related to fresh produce
Desirable qualification (can be provided by QIMA WQS)
- 16-hour or 02-day HACCP course based on Codex Alimentarius
- Lead Auditor Course with a duration of one week/40 hours or equivalent (ISO 9001 or ISO 22000) or One Day Practical Inspection Course setting out basic principles of inspection
- Food Hygiene Training (min. 8 hours) covering: site management, water, fertilizer, equipment, facilities and personal hygiene, and practical case studies (FSMA Produce Safety Rule training)
- IPM, Plant Protection, Fertilizer, Soil Management (can be part of graduation)
- Experience with GFSI recognized schemes such as PrimusGFS and GLOBALG.A.P. is preferred.
Availability to travel to perform the audits.
