Overview We are seeking a skilled Human-Centered Design Specialist with expertise in UX/UI research and design to join our team contingent upon contract award. In this role, you will play a key role in creating intuitive and engaging user experiences across our digital products. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to conduct user research, design user interfaces, and ensure our products are aligned with our customers' needs and goals.
Responsibilities - User Research : Conduct comprehensive user research through methods such as interviews, surveys, usability testing, and field studies to gain insights into user needs, behaviors, and preferences.
- Design Strategy: Develop and communicate design strategies that address user needs and business goals. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to define and prioritize design goals.
- UI/UX Design: Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for web and mobile applications. Ensure designs are user-friendly, accessible, and visually appealing.
- Interaction Design: Develop intuitive and engaging interactions that enhance user experiences and align with established design patterns and standards.
- Usability Testing: Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to evaluate design effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Analyze and present findings to the team and stakeholders.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, developers, and other designers to ensure seamless integration of design into the development process. Communicate design concepts and decisions effectively.
- Design Iteration: Iterate on designs based on feedback and data from user testing, market trends, and industry best practices.
- Accessibility: Ensure all designs adhere to accessibility standards and guidelines to create inclusive experiences for all users.
- Design Documentation: Create and maintain design documentation, including style guides, design systems, and specifications for development teams.
- Stay Current: Keep up with industry trends and emerging technologies in UX/UI design and human-centered design practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in UX/UI research and design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, or similar tools.
- Demonstrated experience designing systems that meet 508 Requirements.
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
- Significant experience working in an agile software development environment.
- Solid knowledge of user research methods and techniques.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and decisions to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards and guidelines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Demonstrated experience in Federal or State contracting as a Civic Technologist
- Demonstrated Knowledge and Experience with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)
- Familiarity with front-end development technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Clearance Requirements
- This role requires the hired candidate to go through public clearance.
- A minimum of 3 years of stay in the U.S. within the last 5 years is a must to be eligible to qualify for public trust clearance sponsorship.
Education - Bachelor's degree in Human-Centered Design, Interaction Design, User Experience Design, or a related field.
