Job Description
The Law Office of Maria Hajar, a dynamic and client-focused immigration law firm, is on the lookout for an Immigration Paralegal to enhance our team. We are seeking an individual who not only brings experience and expertise in immigration law but also a genuine willingness to learn, a readiness to invest time in their professional development, and a motivation to actively contribute to the success of clients and our firm. This role requires the candidate to work onsite.
Responsibilities:
• Case Management: Demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in managing and updating client files, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of information in a fast-paced setting.
• Legal Support: Assist in preparing and filing various immigration forms and applications, such as AOS, Naturalization, Employment Authorization, Advance Parole, changes of address, criminal background checks, records requests, and requests under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).
• Client Support: Respond promptly to client inquiries, gathering necessary information for case preparation while keeping clients informed and engaged.
• Interpretation: Serve as an interpreter during client meetings, emphasizing clear and compassionate communication.
Qualifications:
• Experience : A minimum of 1 year of experience working as an immigration paralegal within an immigration law firm, demonstrating a solid understanding of immigration processes and legal documentation.
• Language Skills : Fluency in Spanish is required to communicate with a diverse client base effectively.
• Organizational Skills : Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to efficiently manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Communication Skills : Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey information to clients and team members.
• Attention to Detail : High attention to detail in preparing legal documents and managing client information.
• Teamwork : Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, contributing to a supportive and positive work culture.
