Job Title: Mammography Technologist CWR
Location: Hackensack, NJ 07601
Hours Per Week: 40
Hours Per Day: 8
Days Per Week: 5
Schedule: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Job Summary:

• The Mammography Technologist will be responsible for performing mammographic examinations in compliance with ACR (American College of Radiology) guidelines. This includes assisting with additional breast procedures such as breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, and breast localization. You will work within the Breast Center, providing diagnostic and screening mammography to patients of various age groups, ensuring the highest quality imaging and patient care.

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform diagnostic and screening mammographic examinations for adult, adolescent, and geriatric patients, following ACR requirements.
• Assist in breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsy, and breast localization procedures, including setup and cleanup.
• Perform imaging for needle localization procedures and other stereotactic procedures.
• Operate equipment for specific procedures, select proper technical factors, and use immobilization devices when needed.
• Ensure films are properly identified with patient details and side markings, and develop films using appropriate processing methods.
• Complete patient requisitions with all required information such as technologist’s initials, date, and film size.
• Assist with quality control procedures and document various tests such as phantom images, darkroom fog tests, and processor quality control.
• Provide patient education on Breast Self-Examination (BSE) and other pre/post-procedure instructions.
• Track and compile patient follow-up data, including tracking breast localizations and biopsy reports.
• Ensure compliance with ACR, MQSA, NJ State, and FDA regulations for quality control and documentation.
• Modify and deliver care that meets the specific needs of different patient populations, considering age, culture, language, and accessibility.
• Adhere to all HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of prior experience as a Licensed Mammography Technologist.
• Proficiency in performing mammography and assisting with related procedures in a professional and efficient manner.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology.

Required Certifications & Licensure:

• ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification required.
• Mammography certification must be obtained within the first three months of employment.
• Active Diagnostic Radiography License required.
