This Medical Assistant will work in the Neurology and Neurosurgery clinics at Vanderbilt Medical Center. The MA will float between locations in Nashville and Franklin based on staffing needs and be trained accordingly in these areas. Clinical responsibilities include include supporting the licensed healthcare team performing office visits and procedures by organizing and managing clinic flow, completing vital signs, medication review and rooming patients. May assist with procedures. Opportunity for administrative training in partnership with clinic nursing team. Position is Mon-Fri, business hours, typically 8-430. Minimum availability provided must be 2 days per week. Must have reliable transportation. Positive attitude and flexibility required for this role. The Neurology team at Vanderbilt University Medical Center offers advanced care to treat brain and nervous system disorders. These types of conditions can cause a great deal of anxiety and fear -- particularly when you're experiencing symptoms and haven't been able to find out what's causing them. Our team will do what it takes to reach a diagnosis so that you'll know what's going on. Then we'll work with you to manage it.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Directs and supports patient flow as well as unit operations by maintaining supplies, equipment and unit environmental standards.
* Facilitates identification of resources to meet patient healthcare needs.
* Performs/assists with procedures according to organizational/departmental standards.
* Collects and documents patient screening data for the healthcare team.
* Assists with patient and family education.
