Medical Coder

Are you detail-oriented with a passion for precision in the healthcare industry? We're looking for a dedicated Medical Coder to join our dynamic team. This remote role offers the flexibility to work from home, with occasional visits to Flint, MI for orientation and equipment management.

What You'll Do:

Code Medical Records: Accurately assign ICD-9 diagnosis and CPT/HCPCS procedure codes to medical records.
Support Credentialing: Assist in the credentialing process for healthcare providers.
Documentation Review: Check medical records for completeness and accuracy.
Handle Pre-Claim Edits: Assist with pre-claim system edits related to coding issues.
Manage Denials: Help address third-party payer denials caused by code assignment errors.
Monitor Compliance: Perform regular checks on medical records, financial data, and performance to ensure compliance.
Implement Compliance Plans: Contribute to the development and execution of compliance plans for correct coding and billing.
Identify Risk Areas: Recognize and address coding risk areas to maintain accuracy and compliance.
Report Findings: Communicate your findings directly to your supervisor.
What We're Looking For:

Experience: At least 2 years of experience in Medical Coding.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in EHR systems and familiarity with billing functions in a healthcare setting.
Coding Expertise: Knowledgeable in CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-9 codes.
Certification: Certified in Medical Coding.
Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively.
Record Management: Understanding of medical records and their management.
Compensation:

Competitive rate of up to $20 per hour.
Note:

While the role is remote, you will need to visit Flint, MI twice for orientation, equipment pick-up, and drop-off.
