Job Description
A bit about us: We are a transracial, adoptive family! We are a laid-back, modern family who co-parent really well together. The care will take place at my house (Mom’s house) in Ojai, and then sometimes on Fridays we will need our nanny to drive our son to his Dad’s house in Thousand Oaks. We practice intentional parenting and try to be as consistent as possible. The care will take place in Ojai where our son, my partner, Sunny (our hypoallergenic poodle), and I live together. We have a little studio apartment nearby on my parent’s property that the nanny can live in starting on September 1 st if desired; only utilities need to be paid by our nanny.
Our son is an energetic, 5-year-old boy in T-K. He loves to ride his bike at the skate park, play with cars, and also loves any kind of water play. He is a strong-willed boy who responds best to a confident leader and being in a routine. He also enjoys basketball and soccer.
A bit about you: You have confidence and a sense of adventure! Being a role model for a young, black boy is something you take seriously. You are active, capable, and patient. You are punctual, open-minded, and adaptable. You are comfortable working with a family in the LGBTQI+ community. Kids love how energetic and hands-on you are, and parents appreciate your ability to lead and set boundaries that are consistent with their parenting style. You might know your way around a b-ball court or a soccer field too!
Job Duties: Getting our son ready for school, making his breakfast, packing lunch, driving him to school, occasionally running errands and picking up a few groceries, picking him up from school, preparing snacks, taking him to the skate park or other outings, playing with him, engaging his interests, and some light meal prep for him for dinner.
