As the Product Marketing Lead for the Crypto/Web3/Fintech vertical, you will own the go-to-market strategy for this segment, driving both marketing and sales alignment to penetrate the market effectively. You will have a developer relations background at a dev tools company, with recent experience at a Web3 or crypto-based company. You will intimately understand crypto and Web3 communities, how they operate, and how to engage them effectively.
You are passionate about developers and crypto, and you know how to communicate, engage, and market effectively within the crypto developer ecosystem. You will work cross-functionally with product and marketing teams, advising on campaigns, messaging, and feature positioning. You can write and speak the language of crypto, advising on campaign types that will resonate with developers and Web3 audiences.
Additionally, you will represent Timescale at crypto, fintech, Web3, or any developer industry conference (travel up to 25%), as well as engage directly on sales calls to help position the company’s value proposition in crypto/web3/ fintech native use cases. You will have a strong understanding of PLG (Product-Led Growth) and developer marketing, knowing how to market to developers and drive adoption in the crypto space.
Market Leadership:
Act as the subject matter expert for crypto, Web3, and DeFi ecosystems.
Define and articulate a clear market penetration strategy to achieve revenue and adoption goals.
Leverage your deep connections in the Web3 space to build engagement strategies for crypto-native communities.
Go-to-Market Strategy:
Develop and execute a crypto-native GTM strategy, including messaging, positioning, and competitive differentiation.
Work closely with the product team to align offerings with market needs and Web3 developer pain points.
Collaboration and Alignment:
Partner with sales and marketing teams to develop tools, content, and campaigns that drive pipeline and close deals.
Work with marketing teams to advise on campaign strategies, messaging, and developer adoption techniques.
Engage directly with crypto and Web3 and fintech developer communities to foster adoption and awareness.
Experimentation and Optimization:
Test and refine crypto-native marketing strategies, including community engagement, developer programs, and on-chain incentives.
Use data-driven insights to iterate on campaigns and improve ROI.
Developer-Centric Strategies:
Collaborate with marketing and design and implement PLG (Product-Led Growth) and developer marketing initiatives tailored for crypto/Web3 developers.
Craft messaging and strategies that resonate with crypto, Web3, and fintech developers, aligning with their workflows and challenges .
Thought Leadership & Representation:
Represent Timescale at crypto, fintech, Web3, and developer industry events.
Publish thought leadership content (blogs, research, whitepapers) that establishes Timescale as a leader in crypto data infrastructure.
Travel up to 25% to participate in industry engagements, partner meetings, and key sales opportunities.
Experience:
5+ years in developer relations, product marketing, or GTM roles at a developer tools company.
Recent experience at a crypto or Web3 company is required.
Strong, established presence in the crypto and Web3 community, with active participation in developer ecosystems.
Demonstrated experience publishing thought leadership content (e.g., blogs, research papers) and speaking at industry events.
Skillset:
Strong expertise in developer marketing, community engagement, and crypto-native growth strategies.
Ability to work across various teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of multi-channel crypto-native marketing tactics, including social, Discord, Twitter, and developer hackathons.
Domain Expertise:
Deep understanding of Web3 developer ecosystems, DeFi, and blockchain infrastructure.
Ability to speak and write fluently in the language of crypto, bridging the gap between technical and marketing communications.
Experience working with crypto-native partnerships and influencer networks.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communicator and team collaborator.
Comfortable representing the company externally and speaking at industry events.
Creative problem solver with a test-and-learn mindset.
Data-driven and results-oriented.
Skillset:
Deep expertise in Sales-Led GTM strategy, particularly for enterprise and high-touch deals for IoT
Ability to develop sales enablement materials, supporting outbound sales efforts and strategic accounts.
Strong multi-channel marketing skills (digital, social, field marketing, and events).
Ability to work cross-functionally, aligning sales, marketing, and product teams.
Domain Expertise:
Deep knowledge of the IoT technology ecosystem, including key players, trends, and partnerships.
Understanding of both IT and OT sides of IoT and their respective roles in industrial and energy sectors.
Proven ability to engage and collaborate with developers and manufacturing buyers.
Soft Skills:
Excellent communicator, capable of engaging both technical and business audiences.
Comfortable speaking at industry events and representing the company externally.
Data-driven, analytical, and results-oriented—focused on measurable GTM success.
Not willing to travel up to 25%
Little to no experience in Web3 developer ecosystems, DeFi, and blockchain infrastructure.
