School of Business – Business Analytics Faculty
The Calvin University School of Business (CUSB) invites applications for a full-time faculty member in Business Analytics (open rank, tenure-track or renewable-term) to join the school beginning in August 2024 – final position approval pending.
REQUIREMENTS
The university seeks applicants with vibrant Christian faith who are dedicated to integration of that faith with their field of study.
Ideal candidates will hold a PhD or other terminal degree in business analytics, information systems, data science, business statistics, or a related business discipline. Candidates with a master’s degree or ABD in the above disciplines with five years of relevant business experience will also be considered.
We desire an individual who is willing to form a vision for the future of our new BS in Business Analytics. This is an opportunity to provide leadership to holistically design a program that prepares future business professionals to strategically plan applying the full breadth of technologies for data collection (e.g. IoT, RFID, Social Media etc.), data storage (RDBMS, NoSQL), analysis from foundational statistical methods to machine learning and communication through written, oral and visual means (i.e. data visualization). In addition, we strive for a program that establishes a symbiotic relationship with a broad range of industries.

FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES
Faculty members typically teach 24 semester hours per academic year. Faculty are expected to grow in Reformed Christian commitment; to pursue an active scholarly agenda; to teach effectively; to advise students well; to serve the university, department, students, and the wider community; and to engage actively with professional associations and learned societies, e.g. The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS), Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), American Accounting Association (AAA), American Statistical Association (ASA) and The Academy of Management’s “Communication, Digital Technology, and Organization” (CTO) Division.

ABOUT THE CALVIN UNIVERSITY SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
In 2021, the CUSB received a generous $22.25 million gift to build a new facility, strengthen its faculty, increase enrollment, and become a premier School of Business informed and guided by a Reformed Christian perspective. The CUSB has more than 600 students enrolled across its eight undergraduate majors (Accounting, Business Analytics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Financial Planning, Human Resource Management, Marketing, and Operations & Supply Chain Management) and two graduate programs (Master of Accounting and Master of Business Administration).
