JOB TITLE: School Receptionist/ Central Office

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

Days: 260 Days
Salary Range: $35,000-$40,000 based on experience

? Proven demonstration of excellent telephone and interpersonal skills
? Proven demonstration of ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
? Ability to establish positive working relationships with co-workers
SUMMARY: Responsible for managing all customers (both internal and external) who present themselves at the
school’s front office. This includes providing information and directing customers to other appropriate offices,
announcing their arrival to administrators and applicable staff, and overseeing sign-in and sign-out sheets. The
receptionist will also provide general clerical support to the school office staff and assigned administrators.
1. Serves as receptionist at front office of the school
2. Operates a multi-line telephone system to receive incoming calls and messages.
3. Greets parents, staff and the public and directs patrons to destinations.
4. Answers and refers telephone and in-person inquiries to appropriate personnel
5. Takes messages as necessary
6. Rentals secretary
7. Clerical support to Transportation and Operations
8. Willing to use district applicable programs (Calendar, SCView, etc)
9. Ability to navigate and use school security programs
10. Performs general secretarial and clerical functions (Scheduling, copying, faxing, data entry, filing, phone
management, etc) for the purpose of supporting office operations.
11. Provides assistant with special projects
12. Maintains the confidentiality of privileged information (includes letters, phone, email, fax, etc.)
13. Support data entry for EMIS as requested. (RIMPS, Free/Reduced, DASL entry, etc)
14. Maintain district fixed assets
15. Performs other duties and training as required and assigned. (i.e. Attend safety training, CPI, etc.)
Evaluation: Job performance is evaluated according to policy provisions and administrative contractual agreements adopted by the Poland Local School District Board of Education.

Physical Requirements: Work is considered light physical work requiring the exertion of up to 20 pounds of force.
Work Environment: Employees in this position are required to work in indoor and outdoor environments, and
come into direct contact with staff, students and the public.
