Job Description


Summary

The Teacher is responsible for implementing the curriculum, and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom. This is a great opportunity for someone who loves children and will thrive in a fun, active environment. Teachers must understand children's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. The Teacher must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, and resolve parental concerns.

Duties

Teaching the provided weekly curriculum materials and supplementing any additional activities.
Help children master potty training.
Create a positive atmosphere for the children to learn and play.
Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions and daily reports.
Follow all center policies and state regulations.
Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Instruct the young child in bible stories and bible songs.

Requirements

Must have 6 months experience in a licensed child care center.
Desire to work 40-hour work week.
An understanding of child development.
High energy.
Physically able to lift toddlers (20-40 pounds).
Ability to work well with others.
Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
High School Diploma or GED.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of DSS/DHEC guidelines.
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
College credit in early childhood education or related field of study. CDA or 6 hours of ECE credit preferred.
